Review of Bale Fete – June 2025
Once again Bale fete lived up to its reputation as one of the best. It is quintessentially English in its setting and its variety and while the sun shone, the North Norfolk wind
blew. As cups of tea were poured, it frequently flowed horizontally, missed the cup and washed over the table.
Visitors were treated to stalls ranging from cakes and gifts, to books, plants and white elephant. There werevgames on the lawn, including a coconut shy, lawn darts,
bowling and more; prizes large and small could be won on the tombola, the bottle stall, the raffle and the wine raffle.
The atmosphere was enhanced by the joyful playing of Sheringham silver band and by the opportunity to enjoy tea and cake on the lawn. The high number of visitors resulted in the wonderful total of almost £4,000 being raised for the church and the village hall. A huge thank you to everyone who came, everyone who made donations and everyone who worked so very hard in the run-up and on the day.
